Baby, you can drive my car

Guess who drove today? ME!

So exciting.

But my friend said that it's faster to walk when I'm the one driving. I drove for 1 hour but only covered a distance of like, 1 or 2 km.

Maybe "drove" isn't the right word, more like a combination of stalling the car, restarting it, and moving one meter before stepping on the brakes and breathing in and out to calm myself.

You know when you're the one behind the wheel(for the first time), driving at 20 km/h feels EXTREMELY fast. Maybe it's just me, I felt like the front was going to bump into something if I didn't stop, but fact is, I've barely moved from where I started out.

It was fun though, driving is addictive...and manual driving is cooler than auto driving! You get to shift gears, even though it's not like I actually did that. All I could do was hold on to the steering wheel and look straight ahead at the road. Can't wait for the next time I get to drive again!

In case I sounded like an absolute loser, I learnt to reverse as well. Basically, my friend taught me to go forward and reverse....in a "straight" line.

OH..Suyan wanted to buy chips so we parked the car, and.....ZY wanted me to reverse his car out of the lot. It was reversing uphill and I swear that was the hardest thing ever. In the process, the car stalled 5 or 6 times, I kept forgetting to release the brake because I was so scared the car was going to roll down the slope and hit the curb. AND, turning the steering wheel FAST, is so much harder than it looks. You have to turn the wheel two full rounds, control the clutch pedal, make sure you release the brake at the right time and quickly shift your foot to accelerator and at the same time make sure your car is going alright and no other cars and pedestrians are coming towards you. I was sweating from all that stress.

I freaked out when the car was in the "noob-est" position ever(awkwardly halfway out of the parking lot) and another car came from behind and had to wait for me to reverse out very slowly using my amateur reverse skills. Oh well. It was a lot of fun though, I love getting driven around in Melb cos it hardly ever happens.

Can't wait to get my P's and then baby, I can drive my car. I don't have a car HAHAHA!

I drove some...toyota hatchback car. Model, I have no idea. Okay, shall shut up now to prevent embarrassing myself. I know zilch about cars.
